Background
The Information Technology Industry comprises interrelated occupations that share similar training and skill requirements, but cuts across multiple industries. For example, information processing occupations provide "back office" support to large organizations, such as government, insurance, financial services, health care and wholesale trade. Back office support includes data processing and analysis, credit checking, database administration, and payroll and billing services. Occupations that have the opportunity for a large amount of growth include systems analysts, adjustment clerks, bill collectors and medical records technicians.
